How do I set up coupons?

Disclaimer

  • Previously, Celery had dedicated `Free Shipping` coupon type. The `Free Shipping` feature was updated to be an additional setting for flat and percent coupons.
  • Only one coupon code can be applied per order (i.e., coupon codes cannot be be stacked)

Overview

Coupon codes can given to your buyers to incentivize sales.

There are 2 types of coupons in Celery:
  • Flat ($5 off): subtract a flat amount from the line item total
  • Percent (e.g., 20% off): subtract an amount that's calculated as a percentage of the line item total

Free Shipping

Coupons also have the option to apply free shipping to entire order. Thus, you can create a $20 off coupon with free shipping.

Usage

Sellers can apply different limitations to coupons, including:
  • Product-specific: I want the coupon to work only if the buyer purchases at least 1 unit of Product A.
  • Limit coupon usage: I want the coupon to be used at most 5 times.
  • Start date: I want the coupon to be used only after January 1, 2016.
  • End date: I want the coupon to expire after December 31, 2016.
